  • • The document MUST HAVE NOTARIAL WORDING.  If the document does not come with the document, the notary will ask you whether an acknowledgement or a jurat is required.
  • • IF the signer doesn’t know what type of notarization is required, he or she should contact the document’s issuing or receiving agency to determine this. WE CANNOT MAKE THIS DECISION FOR YOU and without notarial wording, we cannot perform the notarization.

  • • If the place/venue of notarization on the Notarial Certificate is anything other than New York New York the Notary must line out the incorrect information and enter New York New York.  Additonally, the name on the certificate must match the name on the identification provided.
  • • Notaries are permitted to keep a journal of Notarial Acts including all pertinent information such as date, time and type of notarization, the signature and address of the signer, how the signer was identified etc. The Notarization will not proceed if you refuse to sign the journal and provide the requisite information.
